After two weeks totally off the bike, over a month since riding in daylight, and a large dinner planned for the day, I was really looking forward to our Annual Fat Boy Turkey Day Ride. This despite the fact that it was on this ride last year that I bonked for the one and only time ever. Too much trying to "pay it forward" calorie-wise.
This year, I had a GU on the way out and hooked up with everybody in "downtown" Chester. In addition to seeing some faces I hadn't seen in a while, Team Mullaly showed up as well. Great mild temps and wonderful mild riding made for a great time. Thanks especially to Shawn & Chuck for keeping the tradition going.
BONUS: We got to ride all the "Turkey Day" roads. What are those you ask?
Blueberry Hill Road
Roast Meat Hill Road
and of course - Turkey Hill Road
You can't make these up - they were all on this route (pic attached).
I would have rather had the Blueberry after the Turkey of course, but considering they were ALL hills, no order would have suited me perfectly anyway.
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
I would be glad to join. I might next year.
