While not "excellent" or "the highest quality," it looks/feels like my knees are finally back to normal, at least to 85-90%. I rested & iced them for almost a week, and then tested them for the first time Friday with a 1/2 E1 trainer session. They were a bit sore, so I iced them again but then went out yesterday morning for a walk (not run) around my running loop. Shocker - everything was fine, though a little painful during the final couple of miles. The final test was this morning - a full E1 on the trainer (the same workout that finally blew out the knees last week) - and all day: nuthin' but a little soreness when I press in certain areas.
But I'm gonna be extra smart and give them another week (at least) before I try running again. In the meantime, I'll do what'll turn out to be my first full training week of 2014 (on the bike) - and then see how I feel by the weekend.
Busy time at work starts Wednesday, and snow is in the forecast for tomorrow, so it'll be a long week. But come next Monday, I should be able to get back onto my "Couch-2-5k" program. I'm just not sure whether I should start again at week 1 #1 or pick up where I left off.
Considering what I've been through the last bunch of days, I think I'll be happy to just start over at the beginning. That should keep my knees buzzing happily away...
